Government fixes minimum support price of spring paddy

Kathmandu- The government has fixed the minimum support price of spring paddy with moisture content up to 18 per cent at Rs 2,869 per quintal for the current fiscal year 2024/25. Releasing the Cabinet decisions at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Communications Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung shared that permission was granted to Commissioner Jay Bahadur Chand of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to participate in ‘Anti-Corruption Global Forum’ taking place in Washington DC of USA from April 8-9.
Similarly, the Cabinet took the decision to give permission to member of National Planning Commission, Prof Dr RP Bichchha, to participate in ‘Asia Pacific Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktaking Moment’ scheduled in Bangkok of Thailand from March 3-5, to appoint Agni Prasad Kharel as Human Rights and Transitional Justice advisor to the Prime Minister, and to grant permission to table the replacement bill of the Ordinance Designed to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to promotion of good governance and public service delivery after the endorsement from the federal parliament.
The government decided to give permission to table the replacement bill of the Ordinance Designed to Amend Some Nepal Acts related to improvement of economic and business environment and promotion of investment, 2081, the replacement bill of the ordinance related to Economic Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment), 2081, and replacement bill related to Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081, after their endorsement from the federal parliament.
Also the Spokesperson of the government, Minister Gurung mentioned that permission was granted to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, to participate in the 11th Edition of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue scheduled in Berlin from March 18-19. Deputy Inspector General of the Nepal Police, Janak Bhattarai, was promoted to the post of Additional Inspector General effective from March 2 and installed at the Nepal Police Headquarter, Province Coordination Department, permission was granted to a delegation led by Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi, to attend the 69th conference of United Nations Commission on the Status of Women taking place in New York from March 10-21.
Likewise, the government provided permission to Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri to participate in Ministerial Round Table Event on Taking Water Security across the Climate-Natural-Development Nexus Programme scheduled in London on March 13 as well as designated joint-secretary Birendra Kumar Yadav as officiating Chief Secretary of Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Karnali Province, he shared. The cabinet promoted Dr Bikas Devkota to the vacant post of Secretary (Health Service) and transferred Secretary Suman Aryal at the National Planning Commission and Secretary Loknath Poudyal at the Office of the Vice-President.
