Health Minister Paudel for strengthening health services in Karnali

Jumla- Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has underlined the need for strengthening health services in Karnali Province. He said it while addressing the first convocation of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) here today.
He directed the KAHS officials to work effectively and honesty so that health services could be improved. The Health Minister also informed that the Ministry was for increasing the existing amount of health insurance coverage.
“KAHS needs to produce skilled human resources, as the Ministry has accorded special priority in the annual budget for the health sector of Karnali region,” he added. All burn victims were provided treatment free of cost, he reminded. The Chief Guest of the programme was Prof Dr Kirsten Meisinger from Harvard Medical College Center for Primary Care and System Strengthening, USA.
The first convocation of KAHS witnessed the graduation of total 58 students- of Bachelor’s and Master programmes in medical science, public health and nursing, according to Amrit Bahadur Bhandari, Administrative Officer at KAHS.
