Itahari to host three-day ‘Eastern Travel Mart’
Dharan (Sunsari)- A three-day ‘Eastern Travel Mart’ is set to be organised in Itahari. The event will be commencing tomorrow at the initiative of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
The event to run till June 9 aims to promote the tourism industry in the Koshi Province. At a press meet in Itahari, Mart Secretary Basudeb Baral said the event is expected to welcome visitors from Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim of India, from Bhutan, Bangladesh, and other countries. As said by event coordinator Bhabish Kumar Shrestha, over 80 travel entrepreneurs including both domestic and international will participate in the Mart.
The NTB has allotted Rs three million and the Itahari Sub Metropolis has supported Rs 600 thousand to organise the event. During the event, visitors will be encouraged and facilitated to tour various tourist sites within the province.
Local cultural demonstrations and food stalls will remain as the Mart highlights. The premises of Soaltee Westend, a hotel in Itahari has been chosen as a venue for the event. Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki, is scheduled to inaugurate the event, which will conclude at a formal session in Hotel Mechi Crown in Kakarvitta of Jhapa.
