CM Yadav seeking vote of confidence for the fifth times today
Mahendranagar (Dhanusha)- Madhesh Province’s Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence today in Province Assembly meeting for the fifth time. With the change in the coalition in federal government, CM Yadav is gearing up to garner vote of confidence for the fifth times in the last 18 months.
The situation to seek a vote of confidence yet again for CM Yadav surfaced after coalition partners CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist) withdrew their support lent to the CM and left the government.
The constitutional provision mandates that the CM should seek a vote of confidence within 30 days after any party supporting the government withdraws its support. CM Yadav, who is also the parliamentary party leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party, is scheduled to seek a motion of trust at 3:00 pm, according to the Province Assembly Secretariat.
The CM commanded the support of the Nepali Congress (NC), Loktantrik Samajwadi Party Nepal, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepal Sanghiya Samajwadi Party and Nagarik Unmukti Party. NC parliamentary party leader and NC Madhesh Province’s President Krishna Prasad Yadav told Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the NC, which was in opposition role earlier, has decided to give CM Yadav a vote of confidence.
