Business journalist Paudel awarded with Jansewa Shri Medal

Business journalist Dilip Paudel has been conferred on the Janasewa Shri Medal for his significant contribution to nation through economic journalism.

President Ramchandra Paudel conferred the medal and a letter of appreciation on Paudel, a journalist working in the Nagarik national daily, during special ceremony held at the President’s Office on Friday. Letter of appreciation was signed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Medal Committee Chairman and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka. The President had announced that journalist Paudel would be awarded the medal on the occasion of Constitution Day (National Day) Aswin 3 of 2079BS.

Paudel, who is also the General Secretary of Nepal Press Union, has been active in journalism for a decade and a half. Paudel originally from Baglung and working under the economic bureau of the Nagarik national daily at the head office, Kathmandu has been honored with various awards and prizes, such as the Barbara Adams Investigative Journalism Award, and SEJON Award.

“This recognition inspires me to continue working towards the betterment of entire journalism sector” Paudel observed after receiving the medal.
