Agro fair to be held March 17

An agricultural fair is going to be organized in Palpa to promote agricultural production and marketing of agro produce. Preparations are being made for Krishi Mela, 2079, which will be held on the March 13 at ward no 9 of Tansen municipality.

The fair is being organized by Agriculture Service Centre, Damkada, Madanpokhara Sangam Cooperatives, Krishimela Consumer Committee with the major theme of ‘Participation in agricultural, end of dependency’. The Agricultural Knowledge Center Palpa, Prime Minister Agricultural Modernization Project, Project Implementation Unit Palpa is also supporting the organising of the fair.

The fair will feature competitive agricultural exhibition, exhibition of indigenous crop varieties, goat and chicken rearing competition exhibition, agro tools, nursery plant sales and distribution, animal disease diagnosis and dung testing, agricultural dialogue program, food stall, plant clinic, organic fertilizer production and soil testing, among others, Ward chair of Tansen-9 Rajesh Kumar Aryal said.

This fair is intended to encourage farmers to become resort to commercial farming and thereby increase agricultural production.
