Ncell confers scholarships and excellence awards to outstanding students

Ncell Private Limited, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), confers Ncell Scholarships and Excellence Awards to the outstanding students of five various faculties of the Institute of Engineering (IoE), Pulchowk Campus amidst a ceremony on Tuesday at Hotel Himalaya along with the faculty of IoE and family members of the winning students.
Under the Ncell Scholarships and Excellence Awards programme, Ncell will provide scholarships and excellence awards worth Rs. 13 million to top scoring students for the next five years (2019-2023). Earlier from 2014 to 2018, Ncell had provided scholarships and excellence awards worth Rs. 8 million to the students. The Ncell Scholarship and Excellence Awards programme aims at encouraging technical education and recognises young talents who have demonstrated extraordinary academic excellence.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Ncell had initiated this programme at Pulchowk Campus in 2014. From 2014-2018, a total of 60 students have been granted with Ncell Scholarships and 20 students were coffered with Ncell Excellence Awards.
This year Ncell Scholarships were handed over to the students on Tuesday by Ncell’s Management Team Members—Muhammad Adeel Israr (Chief Technology Officer), Kanishka Gayan Wickrama (Chief Finance Officer), Irwin M. Eusoff (Chief Strategy Officer) and Mahendra Kumar Bhattachan (Chief Security & Administration Officer). Similarly, Ncell Excellence Awards were jointly handed over to students who graduated from these faculties securing highest marks by Prof. Ramchandra Sapkota, Dean of IoE and CEO of Ncell, Andy Chong.
This year 18 Ncell Scholarships were conferred to the topper students of BE Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Computer, Civil and Mechanical engineering. Similarly, 6 students who graduated from these five faculties securing highest marks received Ncell Excellence Awards.

Ncell Scholarships are provided based on annual scores of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year and students receive it for studying in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, respectively. The 18 scholarships receivers include 3 toppers of 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year from Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Computer, Civil, and Mechanical faculty and 3 female toppers from 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year among all female students of these five faculties.
Ncell Excellence Awards, on the other hand, are given to the students graduating with top scores from each of these five faculties and also to a female student graduating with top scores among all female students of the five faculties. Both scholarships and excellence awards are worth Rs. 100,000 each.
