Storm in Bara claims atleast two dozen lives
Atleast 30 people have been died and more than 400 have been injured in a storm that shook Parsa and Bara on Sunday evening. Though, it might take some time to get the real numbers of injured and dead, many were killed in the remote Harbadiya of Parsa while some others died in different locations of Bara, according to the District Police Office.
Some 400 are reported to be injured in various locations of the two districts and many of them are undergoing treatment at local medical centres including the Narayan Sub-regional hospital, the police said, adding that a significant amount of property was also destroyed as houses were damaged as a result of the windstorm.
Local police and army personnel as well as local residents are involved in the rescue work. Nepal Army has prepared a chopper to fly at the emergency call. The government is taking stock of the situation, according to the government sources.
