Ambiente: A silver lining for export market
Some 17 Nepali trading houses are going to participate in world’s best and very popular exhibition ‘AMBIENTE’ organized by ‘Messe Frankfurt’, Germany from February 8 to 12 in Frankfurt.
Ambiente is an annual leading international consumer goods trade fair, With its uniquely diverse offer, it is the platform for the entire market, according to Binod Malla, the only authorized representative of Messe Frankfurt for Nepal.
According to him, “More and more buyers are looking specifically for direct contact with qualified manufacturers in the shortest possible way. Outside Asia, Ambiente is the largest and most important forum for Global Sourcing. Ambiente is the world’s most important consumer goods trade fair which boasts a globally unrivaled range of products in the Dining, Giving and living”.
According to the statistics of trade and export promotion center (TEPC), approximately 67 percent of countries trade is only conducted within South Asian countries like India, Pakistan, and China etc.
While Nepali traders struggle to expand their market, Ambiente is the silver lining on the black cloud. Nepal’s participation is not very satisfactory as there is a low possibility of participation because of the expensive entrance fee. According to Mr. Malla, This year 17 companies are participating in Ambiente which is a very positive sign to broaden the international market for Nepali products.
According to Messe Frankfurt Nepal, around 1500 global sourcing exhibitors from 55 countries including China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Hong Kong, Morocco, The Philippines, South Africa, and Vietnam are participating this year. Messe Frankfurt is one of the largest and leading trade fair organizers which have most modern exhibition centers in the world with an ideal infrastructure and more than 2200 people working with it.
