Vacant ambassadorial posts being filled

Kathmandu- The government is to soon make appointments to the vacant ambassadorial positions to various countries.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Sunday has recommended names for appointment as ambassadors to three countries including India.
Top officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have said the names of individuals for appointment to the vacant posts of ambassador would be recommended soon. The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee will conduct hearing on the recommended names.
It is learnt the Council of Ministers’ meeting recommended law expert and intellectual Nilambar Acharya to the post of ambassador to India, former ambassador Udaya Raj Pandey to the post of ambassador to Malaysia and joint secretary at the Ministry Krishna Prasad Dhakal to the post of ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
With the appointment of three ambassadors, recommendation for appointment to the post of Nepal’s resident representative (ambassador) to the United Nations Permanent Mission still remains while the post of ambassador to six countries will fall vacant after some time.
