Social justice remains at the center of our polity, PM says addressing the UNGA

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has addressed the 73rd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in UN Headquarters, New York.
Addressing the UNGA today, the PM said, “Our vision is of a comprehensive democracy that empowers individuals not only politically but also socially, economically and culturally.” According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Oli said that Nepal’s commitment to the protection and promotion of human rights is total and unflinching. “We hold that development, democracy and respect for human rights as interdependent and mutually reinforcing,” the PM said. Nepal views that the pursuit of making the UN relevant to all people is well captured in the philosophy of ‘leaving no one behind’, and that reaching furthest behind first is not a luxury, PM Oli said addressing the august ceremony, adding that Social justice remains at the center of our polity.
