Free Health Camp in Muscat
The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat has organized a free Health Camp for awareness, initial screening and check-up for Breast Cancer at Al-Mara land, Qurum Garden, Muscat in association with Oman Cancer Association and Barakath Al-Noor Clinic.
Around 75 Nepali females benefited through free health camp and nearly 30 males get benefited from free blood sugar test, blood pressure and BMI measurement.
The programme commenced with lighting of traditional oil lamp jointly by SarmilaParajuli Dhakal, ambasador of Nepal to the Sultanate of Oman; Yuthar Al Rawahy, Founder and Honorary Life President of Oman Cancer Association and four time cancer surviver; Dr. Wahid Ali Al Kharusi, President of Oman Cancer Association; and Dr. Rajyashree Naraayan Kutty, Surgeon, Barkhath Al Noor Clinic followed by the national anthem of Oman and Nepal.
Welcoming the invited guests, envoy Dhakal expressed that there could be multiple reasons for women to encounter with breast carcinogenic cells, and the regular checkup, self-screening, mammography can help in early detection of those cells that would minimize the probability of the growth of carcinogenic cell and early treatment. She also stressed on the fact that healthy citizens are the true assets of the country. This initiation was taken to build healthy female citizen which was termed as ‘Swastha Shakti’. Hence every people should be aware about their health and timely checkup is the key for healthy life.
Positive attitudes and willingness to live are the greatest medicines which build within strong, from the inner source of one’s own self. Envoy Dhakal also explained about the Embassy’s upcoming programmes regarding celebration of the 41st Anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Oman Diplomatic Relations.
DB Chhetri, secretary of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), on the occasion, appreciated the various activities that Embassy of Nepal is doing for the community welfare.
Around 40 Nepali males from various Nepali social organizations in Oman volunteered for the free health camp.
