Ready to hand over power: PM Deuba

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that he was ready to hand over power after completing all required procedures.
Inaugurating the Chitwan Elephant festival in Sauraha on Tuesday, Deuba said with the successful completion of the federal and provincial parliamentary elections he was looking forward to handing over power. “The NC-led government was successful in fully enforcing the constitution by holding the three tier elections to give a way out to the country, despite the knowledge that the party would not fare well in the election,” he said.
Deuba, who is also the chair of the party, said the NC has always led the important historical achievements in the country. Institutionalizing the constitution is the need of the day. NC is always committed to development, whether it is in the government or not, he added.
The Prime Minister also lauded the elephant festival, which he said had an important contribution to tourism development in the region.
PM Deuba thanked all who was involved in the rescue of the endangered rhinos swept away by the floods last moon. “I’m positive to the demands of the industrialists, but worried about the Narayangadh-Muglin roadway which is still not complete,” he said, adding that he would however direct the concerned agency to complete the roadway.
On the occasion, Minister for State for Education, Seshnath Adhikari, informed that the joint efforts of Swiss government and Nepal Government were on to resolve the problems of floods.
Various events as elephant picnic, elephant walk competition, elephant makeup, elephant birthing, elephant painting competition are organized on the occasion. RSS
